Joint BGA and IMechE Prize

Awarded for the best final year project on any topic broadly related to the field of mechanical power transmissions

The Joint BGA / IMechE annual student prize has been established since 2000. It is considered one of the most prestigious student prizes in the field of mechanical engineering.

The goal of the prize is to encourage and support the growth of the next generation of UK engineers.

Submission guidelines

In order to register, application forms for individual or team projects completing in Summer 2022 must be sent to the British Gear Association by 30 August 2022.

A copy of the completed project report (in Word or pdf format) will be required by 30 September 2022.

Please note that projects for HND/HNC, BEng/BSc, MEng or MSc will be accepted and the judges will apply suitable weightings to take account of the different qualification levels.
