Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) status

CEnv Logo If you're a chartered member of the Institution, you can now apply for registration as a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and gain recognition for your skills in, and commitment to, sustainable environmental management and development.

What is a Chartered Environmentalist?

Chartered Environmentalists are not drawn from one profession. They work across industry, government, education and the public sector. They share a commitment to environmental best practice and high levels of expertise in their field.

The sustainability and environmental challenges we face today means that the role of the Chartered Environmentalist is more important than ever. Registration sets Chartered Environmentalists apart from others working in the field. It establishes that they have proven knowledge, experience and a commitment to professional standards. It also enhances their career prospects.

Benefits of becoming a Chartered Environmentalist

CEnv gives environmental practitioners:
  • recognition beyond their specific sector
  • a way of demonstrating their competence within the sector
  • recognition of their commitment to environmental best practice within their particular field of expertise
For employers, specifying CEnv status as a recruitment requirement gives them greater confidence in the environmental competence and professionalism of potential employees.
